Policies, Payment and Location

Deposit is Required. At the time you officially book a day, a 50% deposit needs to be paid either on credit card, money order, cash or check. When scheduling an appointment over the phone, the deposit is due within 48 hours of booking or at least 48 hours before the appointment. The balance of the service will be charged to you the day of your appointment.

Cancellation. If at all possible, give at least a week notice when canceling. To change your date, and have your deposit transfer to the new date, a minimum of 48 hours notice of date change is required. To cancel an appointment with no reschedule, 48 hours notice is required for a refund of the deposit. If 48 hours notice is not given on a cancellation, but the appointment can be filled, the deposit will be refunded. All applicable deposits will be returned by check.

Not showing up the morning of the appointment, or canceling the morning of the appointment renders the deposit automatically non-refundable. Showing up later than 30 minutes to an appointment without calling the salon renders the deposit non-refundable, and the appointment cancelled.

Hair Condition. If your hair is rendered unsuitable for straightening because of something done between the consultation and the straightening appointment, the appointment will be cancelled and the deposit will not be returned. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, chemically altering the hair, damaging the hair by any means, and aquireing any form of contageous skin condition or nit/lice infestation. We strictly inforce our no-nit/lice policy which serves to protect all of our clients. We do not treat or diagnose infectious or contagous  conditions and reserve the right to refuse anyone who we feel might be a carrier of any such condition. For infectious diseases, a letter from the overseeing doctor will need to be submitted before being allowed to reschedule, and a new deposit given. For lice or nits, a 2 week waiting period will be required before reschedulling, and a new deposit given. If a client shows up for the rescheduled appointment, still infected, the deposit will be non-refundable and the client will not be allowed to book again.

If a phone consultation was done due to extenuating circumstances, and you arrive the day of your appointment with hair that was misrepresented over the phone and unsuitable for straightening, the appointment will be cancelled and the deposit will not be returned.

For returning clients scheduled for a root-touch up, consultations are not necessary if the client has not altered their hair’s chemical condition since the last straightening. If the hair has been chemcially altered, the client must be forth coming with that information.

All the above policies apply to returning clients, arriving to the salon the day of their straightening appointment.

Along these same lines, the appointment will be cancelled and deposit not returned, if the client arrives to their straightening appointment obviously sick or is under doctors orders to be in bed. Rescheduling, in this situation, will be determined on a case by case basis.

Price May Vary. The price depends on how much chemical is used. It is not based on time spent, hair length, or any other factor. This insures that your price will not over inflate if extra time is taken to get the desired results. $490 is the most anyone has been charged.

Payment Options. Checks, Visa, American Express and cash are acceptable payment methods.

Salon Location. UnSprung is located at 833 SE Main St. Suit 409, 97214, between 8th and 9th streets. Main Street is 2 blocks north of Hawthorne. You can park anywhere on the street and a parking permit will be provided for you. There is a telephone directory by the elevator in the middle loading area of the building. Use this directory to contact the salon and to be granted access into the elevator.

Satisfaction Guaranteed. At UnSprung, the goal is to take your hair, chemically, to the straightest and healthiest point possible. You have 1 week after your straightening to report any under processed or over processed hair. If you wait longer than 1 week, you are giving up your right to all complimentary touch ups, conditioning treatments or any other necessary products.
