After: 1 month later. Hair was airdried, no product, no flatironing. After: 2 months later. Hair was airdried, no product, no flatironing. After: Wave is starting to come back underneath.

Before: Previously TR'd with semi-permanent, colored, very curly grow-out. Fine texture, medium density. After: 6 weeks later. Hair was airdried, no product. Client says that she normally blowdrys her hair which makes it much straighter than airdrying. Hair is parted to show waviest section. After: Hair is not parted showing the straighter crown area.
Before: Semi-permanently colored. Fine texture, medium-fine density. Dry ends with some split ends. After: Test strand section on right side shows the lightening of color experienced by everyone who colors their hair the same tone or darker with a semi-permanent color. Lightening does not appear to happen with highlights or to the same degree with permanent dark color
Before: 1/2 black, 1/2 European. Very dry, some split ends. Semi-permanent colored. Medium texture, medium-high density. After: 4 days later after first wash. Around 30% of wave still present. Still very curly at roots, straighter at ends.
Bends: A 2" section held up to show breakage from bends. Client first came to us hoping we could fix her hair by restraightening it. Client had between 50% to 70% breakage on crown due to bends. The broken hair was about 3/4" long. Hairs could easily be popped off at right angle bends. Client turned away because a successful TR could not be cone at the time. Client called back for a BKT when BKT became available. Before: TR'd hair (performed in LA) with 1 1/2" of new growth. Totally damaged all over. Ends completely fried, scalp breakage. Patchy wave and kinks throughout. No color services on hair. Medium-fine texture, low-med density. After: 4 days later after first wash, finger blowdry, no products, no flatironing. Ends still very damaged. Overall smoothing made hair appear much healthier. No added bend breakage. Right angles completely straightened out and were harder to pop off. Client was very pleased with results.

After: 7 weeks later, airdried. Client scheduled 2nd BKT because underneath was reverting. Bends still straight at crown, no further bend breakage. After: Underneath wave coming back. Photo also shows extent of breakage at ends from the previously mentioned TR.
